From January to February, a total of 2,928 China-Europe freight trains were operated

      From January to February this year, 2,928 China-Europe freight trains carried 317,000 TEU of goods, up 9 percent and 10 percent year-on-year respectively. By the end of February 2024, the China-Europe Express trains have departed from 120 domestic cities and reached 219 cities in 25 European countries.

      Since the beginning of this year, China Railway Group has earnestly implemented the spirit of the Central Economic Work Conference, adhered to the principle of extensive consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits, gave full play to the role of domestic and foreign coordination mechanisms, strengthened international railway cooperation, and continued to promote the high-quality development of China-Europe railway services. 

        First, we will strengthen the construction of the China-Europe railway corridor. We will explore the launch of the South China Road (Asia) train connecting Xi 'an, Chongqing and Yiwu to Poti, Georgia, Baku, Azerbaijan and Istanbul, Turkey. Since the beginning of this year, 18 trains have been launched, further improving the network pattern of "smooth and efficient, land-sea connectivity and multiple extensions". 

        Second, strengthen the organization of China-Europe freight trains. Overall allocation of locomotive, vehicle, line, station resources, improve port clearance capacity and efficiency, the west (Alashankou, Khorgos), the middle (Erlian), the East channel (Manzhouli, Suifenhe, Tongjiang North) traffic increased by 9%, 19%, 4%. During the Spring Festival holiday, the China-Europe train was "not closed", running 53 trains per day, an increase of 10% year-on-year. 

        Third, we will improve the service quality of China-Europe express trains. We will strengthen monitoring and control of the entire operation of China-Europe railway services to ensure safety and smooth operation. China-europe freight trains with full timetables have been running steadily, with a total of 45 trains running since the beginning of this year. The timeliness of transportation at home and abroad has been reliably guaranteed and is favored by the majority of customers. The China-Europe Express portal is operating efficiently, providing 7×24 hours of multilingual services to global customers, and continuously improving the level of facilitation.

        The volume of China-Europe freight trains has maintained strong growth, demonstrating the steady and positive trend of China's foreign trade. In the next step, China Railway Group will focus on high-quality services to jointly build the "Belt and Road", continuously improve the quality of China-Europe railway services, promote the development of China-Europe railway services in a higher quality, better efficiency and safer direction, and provide strong support for regional economic development and promote trade between China and Europe.
